The SouthAsia Field Station is estabilished at the main campus of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in 2008. It is located in Coimbatore District, where is famous for its manufacturing industries. The collaborative researches between TNAU and Kyoto Univ. were initiated from when Prof.Palanisami, former directer of Center of Agricultural Rural Development (currently engaged as a directer of IWMI-Tata Program, Hyderabad) came to CSEAS in 2005.
We are currently conducting collaborative researches especially focusing on water resource management and the related issues, toward the alternative institutional design considering the sustainable interactions between natural resources and livelihood of the rural communities.

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) came into being on June 1, 1971. TNAU assumed full responsibilities of Agricultural Education and Research and supported the State Agricultural Department by delivering research products.
